Self Esteem Exercises To Help Boost Your Self Image

Another self esteem exercise is to keep a self esteem journal. This is a great way to process your feelings in a non-threatening environment, as well as a place you can record your achievements. Many people have found journaling to be extremely healing. When you are writing in your journal, make sure that each entry includes something that you have accomplished that day – no matter how large or small.

For example, if you were the only one in your department to show up for work on time, record that in your journal. Be careful to not turn your journal into a pity party in which all you do is vent about the negatives in your life.

One self esteem exercise is to set aside time for you. One of the biggest problems facing people these days is that they don’t take care of themselves. They haven’t learned to say no. They fill their days with demands. All this leaves them tired and disillusioned.

Set aside time for you in which you can learn something new (such as a craft or language), take a road trip to a beautiful location, or simply unwind and relax. By setting aside time for yourself, you are saying that you recognize your own worth and you are going to take care of you.

Eating right is another of the important self esteem exercises. In this fast-paced society we have, it is too easy to grab meals on the run; however, this can lead to poor digestion, weight gain, and other health problems. When your overall health is poor, it is hard to maintain your self esteem.

These are only a few self esteem exercises you can try to boost your self image. By practicing them each day, you can train your mind to focus on the positives and purge the negatives, giving you a better self-image and making you more capable of facing life’s daily challenges.
