Signs Of A Bad Relationship – How To Know It Has Gone Sour

We all long to be in a wonderful, loving, happy, healthy relationship; however, the reality is that there are some relationships that are plain toxic.

So how do you know if you are in an unhealthy relationship? Here are some signs of a bad relationship that may help you determine if you should stay or go.

1. There is no trust in the relationship. If your partner is constantly checking up on you to see who you are with or talking to, this can be a red flag that the person is overly suspicious. Healthy relationships demand trust, and if you can’t trust your partner, this is probably not the best relationship for you. When you find yourself lying to your partner, or you catch your partner lying to you, this means that there is no trust in the relationship. Ask yourself, “Do I trust my partner?” If you answer, “No,” this is one of the signs of a bad relationship and you may want to consider calling the relationship quits.

2. Your partner does not give you any personal space in your life. If your partner demands that you spend all your time with him / her, this is also a warning sign that the relationship may not be a healthy one. While it is only natural to want to spend as much time together as possible in a relationship, everyone also needs some alone time (or time with other people) in order to be well-balanced individuals. Ask yourself, “Does my partner insist I spend every bit of my free time with him / her? Does my partner get angry if I spend time with other people?” If you answer, “Yes,” this is another of the signs of a bad relationship and you may want to take a closer look at your partner.
