See Heaven On Earth And Balance The Spiritual And Physical Aspects Of Your Life

When we place too much focus on the physical and material world, we fail to notice something very important – that there is “heaven” everywhere on Earth. We adopt a false portrayal of the world and of ourselves, and we fail to see that we are actually spiritual beings.

Dyer tells us that the material aspects of life change all the time. They are temporal, always changing. This applies to what you have achieved, things you have accumulated, and even your physical body.

Your health could take a sudden beating. You could have set a world record, and think you’ve “made it”, but someone else could break your mark tomorrow. All the possessions you have collected could be burned to dust overnight. If your mental energy and sense of achievement and happiness are grounded on these elements, you will always have a sense of uncertainty, anxiety and “never enough” about you. Worry and stress will become your constant companions. Your body will definitely age, and if you are so obsessed with how you look, you will struggle to deal with this inevitable reality.

All these things will wear out, their value will fall, and they will fade away and one day disappear. Placing all your hopes and energies on them will only lead you to a dead end – a feeling of disappointment, disillusionment, even bitterness and anger.

The good news is that you have a choice to change things. You could start to realign your energies, and look for the heaven that already exists today on Earth.

And Dyer tells us that “heaven is a state of mind, not a location, since Spirit is everywhere and in everything.” He tells us that we can start to bring a balance between our physical and spiritual aspects by consciously deciding to “look for the unfolding of Spirit in everything and everyone that you encounter.”

Dyer himself has a method to do this – he looks at the world through metaphorical lenses which “filter out the form and all of the material aspects of what I’m seeing, and I can only view the spiritual energy that allows what I’m noticing to exist.”

Using his lenses, Dyer looks at nature and trees and observes that “the lines that form tree boundaries dissolve, and there’s an energy vibrating so fast that it gives a whole new perspective of the tree.” You start to notice different things, such as the empty gaps between leaves; empty pits which once held seeds, seeds which have since gone to sprout into new trees; you see the entire life cycle of the tree, through the four seasons; in new fruits, you see seeds, and in those seeds, you see new life – new trees. When you look deeply into the various areas of nature, you will discover the wondrous interconnectedness of creation. Nature is an intriguing web of miracles after miracles.

When you use the metaphorical lenses to look at people, you will no longer only see their physical attributes or their outward appearances. You will no longer only hear their language. Categories, generalizations or stereotypes which place people into groups will become blurred. Instead, you will begin to see the spiritual energies which live in every person.

Dyer tells us that we will see “pure love vibrating” before us; we will notice “kindness personified”; we will realize that other people have the same insecurities and vulnerable points which we ourselves experience; and we will see “enormous strands of peaceful, glimmering energy connecting each of us.”

He also asks us to begin imagining all the people who had to come together to create us. Our parents, our grandparents, then their parents, and their parents, etc. Thousands maybe millions of people! When we look at things this way, we realize that, in some strange way, everyone is related to each other.

And, from there, we will realize that there is really no one for us to hate, judge or harm. Quite simply, we’re all interconnected.
