Low Self Esteem Signs – Traits Of Those Who Think Poorly Of Themselves

Low self esteem signs often manifest themselves in physical ways, such as being clumsy, or developing ulcers, migraines, upset stomachs, eating disorders and anxiety attacks. If the person could only gain a little self esteem, then those physical symptoms would probably disappear in time.

Another sign of low self esteem is confusion and disorganization – despite the fact that they would like everything to be perfect and in order. They simply don’t know where to begin a task, which is not a good trait to have either at home or at work. The problem is compounded by people with low self esteem wanting to please everyone, and being unable to say, “No” to any demands made on their time. They are overly concerned about what other people think of them and worry that they might hurt other’s feelings if they decline.

Neglecting one’s appearance and health is another low self esteem sign. They don’t feel that they can justify paying a lot of money for nice clothes and getting a $100 haircut – so they buy cheaply and spend little money on themselves because they feel they don’t deserve to have nice things.

They limit themselves by staying well within their comfort zone and are afraid to attempt new experiences which could enrich their lives. They admire other people who are willing to try anything new and different but are convinced that adventure of any kind is not for them.

Making themselves isolated and keeping contact with others to a minimum is a low self esteem sign. Things will not improve until they realize that other people have the same doubts and struggle with many of the same issues that they do. Once they can acknowledge that fact, then perhaps they can take steps to enrich their lives and become more positive, self-confident and increase their level of self-esteem.
