The stress may add to physical changes in your body – blood pressure issues, depression, or sporadic eating patterns leading to either loss or gained weight. All or any of the above may suddenly be part of your world, but they do not have to mean the end of it.

When it comes to how to survive a breakup, learn to take one thing at a time – nothing is so important it should disrupt everything about your existence. This might include techniques such as deep breathing exercises, yoga or meditation. If children are involved you might want to consider keeping their world as calm and routine as possible as well. Whether you feel like it or not, take them, or contact a friend to accompany you, to a movie – preferably a light comedy.
